In this article, we will tell you a couple of the best slime recipes for making yours easily. Without further ado, let’s get started!

How to make slime step-by-step recipes

Let’s take a look at our first tutorial, shall we?

1. Clear Slime

You can easily make clear slime with transparent glue. Let’s see how.

Things you will need

  • Clear PVA glue – ½ cup
  • Saline sol.– 1 tbsp.
  • Baking soda – ½ tsp.
  • Spoon
  • Bowl
  • Measuring cup
  • Fun mix-ins (Optional)


  1. Place ½ cup clear glue in a bowl.
  2. In another bowl, mix ½ cup of lukewarm water with ½ tsp. baking soda. Mix until the soda dissolves.
  3. Add the glue to the soda-water mixture you just made.
  4. Take 1 tbsp. of saline solution or contact lens solution and add it to the mixture. 
  5. If you want, you can add fun mix-ins such as a Lego piece, etc.
  6. Knead the slime until it achieves the right consistency.
  7. Your clear slime is ready.

2. Glitter glue slime

Want to make glitter slime? With this easy slime recipe, you can! It is a simple, 2-ingredient tutorial that you can create in no time. It is perfectly stretchy and you can play with it for days.

Things you will need

  • Washable glitter glue – 1 bottle
  • Liquid starch – ¼ cup
  • Bowl
  • Spoon


  1. Take a bowl and add glitter glue to it.
  2. Add liquid starch slowly and keep stirring. Depending on the brand, 1/8 to 1/4 cup of starch is enough. If you feel that your slime is sticky, you can keep adding a few drops until the consistency is right. However, if you add too much starch, the slime will become rubbery and stiff. 
  3. After mixing, knead the slime really well. The more you knead, the better its consistency will become.

3. Fluffy slime recipe

Want to make fluffy slime with a unique, cool texture? Here’s the recipe that your kids will love.

Things you will need

  • Clear PVA school glue – ½ cup
  • Shaving foam cream – 3 cups
  • Saline solution – 1 tbsp.
  • Bicarbonate of soda – ½ tbsp.


  1. Take a large mixing bowl and add 3 to 4 cups of shaving cream to it.
  2. Add food colour and mix it well.
  3. Add half a cup of glue to the shaving cream mixture.
  4. Stir in ½ tsp. of bicarb. soda.
  5. Take 1 tbsp. of saline solution and add it to the mixing bowl.
  6. As you stir, the mixture will start to pull away from the sides. 
  7. Keep kneading the floam slime until it is no longer sticky.

4. Foamy slime recipe

This slimy goo has an amazing texture. People also call it crunchy slime, since it makes fun, popping noises.

Things you will need

  • Washable PVA clear glue – ½ cup
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Starch – ¼ cup
  • Polystyrene foam beads – 1 cup
  • Food colour (liquid)
  • Bowl

  1. Take a bowl and mix half cup glue with a half cup of water. Stir the slime ingredients thoroughly. 
  2. Add liquid colouring of the colour of your choice. You can use neon colours as they are vibrant and bright. Start with a few drops at a time, and then add more if you want.
  3. If you are going to add food colour, then you don’t need to get colourful foam beads. However, if you want, you can get those too. Add the foam beads to the mixture. If you want, you can add more than 1 cup of beads.
  4. Stir in ¼ cup of starch, a slime activator with sodium borate (borax) that helps to form the slime.
  5. As soon as you add starch to the glue mixture, the slime will form. Stir it thoroughly, knead it for a while, and you will have your slime ready! You can store it in glass or plastic containers. 

5. Baking soda slime recipe

Things you will need

  • Clear PVA glue (washable) – ½ cup
  • Bicarbonate of soda – ¼ tsp.
  • Saline sol. (with boric acid and borax) – 1 tbsp.
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Glitter, confetti, food colouring (optional)


  1. Measure half a cup of washable glue and place it in a bowl.
  2. Add half a cup of water to the glue and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add ¼ tsp. of soda to the mixture. If you want a thick slime, you can use ½ tsp. of soda instead.
  4. Stir in glitter, food colouring, confetti, etc. and mix.
  5. Now you have to add 1 tbsp. saline solution Keep stirring until you get a blob of slime. If you want to make the slime stretchy, then you can add ½ tbsp. of the solution. However, it will be sticky initially.
  6. Now you have to knead the slime. It reduces stickiness. We recommend that you add a few drops of the saline sol. to your hands before you knead.
  7. Voila! You are done! Stretch, knead, and play!

6. Flubber slime

Flubber is super stretchy, super strong, and super thick slime. Kids love flubber and you can make it to your home in a few minutes.

Things you will need

  • Non-toxic, washable white glue – 1 cup
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Liquid starch – ½ cup
  • Food colouring, glitter, etc. (optional)


  1. Take a container, and mix water and glue together. Stir till you get a smooth consistency mixture. 
  2. Add colour or glitter.
  3. Stir in the starch to the mixture. Use a spoon.
  4. Once the ingredients have combined, use your hands to knead the flubber for a few minutes.
  5. Let it sit for almost 15 mins.
  6. Your flubber is ready!
  7. Glow in the dark slime

Who doesn’t love glow-in-the-dark things? Here’s how you can make glow-in-dark-the-slime.

Things you will need

  • Clear PVA glue – ½ cup
  • Saline sol.
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Glow powder – ½ cup
  • Bicarbonate of soda – ½ tsp.


  1. Take a bowl and add the glue to it.
  2. Add water to the glue and mix thoroughly. 
  3. Bicarb. soda makes the slime firm. Add 1 tsp.  
  4. Stir in the glow powder and mix everything.
  5. It is time to add the slime activator. Stir until the slime pulls away from the sides and the bottom of the bowl. If the slime is still sticky, add a couple of drops of saline.
  6. Knead for a few minutes until the slime becomes stretchy. 
  7. Time for play!

Bonus tips for the perfect slime

Playing with slime is a fun indoor activity for you and your kids. Here are some quick tips for you when making slime at home.

  • Use metal bowls and spoons to make slime as they are easy to clean.
  • The more the amount of activator (saline, starch, contact lens solution, etc.), the harder your slime will be.
  • If your slime is too “slimy”, you can add a few tbsps. of cornflour. Knead it in thoroughly. Keep adding cornflour until the consistency feels right.
  • If your slime is too sticky, simply knead the butter slime for a few more minutes until it is not sticky anymore.
